The cigarette contains carbon monoxide a deadly chemical that binds itself to the haemoglobin and inhibits it from carrying oxygen to the various parts of the body.

With the result, the oxygen reaching the foetus through the placenta gets restricted causing damage to the development and health of the foetus.   Hence the urgent need to build awareness amongst women and to wean them away from smoking.Women who smoke can cause more damage to the others and damage their relationship as well as life too. Ignorance in such cases doesn’t help and is not an excuse.
