This is stupid. When I smoked, I took breaks, but I made sure I got my work done, and did it well. Slackers aren’t all smokers. Plus, if we’re going to fire smokers because they smoke, let’s start firing gays because they’re gay, Jews because they’re Jews, and women because they’re women. We all know how much girls distract guys from working. Maybe those Imams are right, huh? Please. It’s called discrimination, and anyone who doesn’t see it is a moron. Take your tyrannical impulses elsewhere.

@Ruinous agreed, people should be docked time if they want to get a cup of coffee/water, make a personal phone call, or goto the bathroom as well.

@Ruinous That’s not the policy though. The policy is you will be fired for smoking on your own time in the privacy of your home. Having something affect your work is one thing, but regulating what you can do in the privacy of your own home is just insane.

I don’t see a problem with a policy that states you have to clock out or be deducted pay for breaks due to a personal choice. Don’t like the loss of possible income? Quit.
